11:30 am update

Hi Everyone,
I know i'm a bit late with this post--I'm writing this one from the Hope Lodge--I left the hospital for a little bit just to take a shower and change clothes and i'm headed back in a minute. Good news at 11:30 am today--Dr. Sardi is still operating and Doug is doing well. The great news that every PMP patient and their families like to hear is that the surgeon is confident moving forward with operating--with this cancer there is always a small chance that they could open him up and decide that the best thing to do would be to not operate at this point, so we are full steam ahead! I'm sorry I don't have anything more detailed for you at this point, I'm expecting another update around 2:30 pm and will update the blog then. I know that Dennis and Elizabeth have left to go to their hotel for a bit to take a break, and so did Jason. Stazia is still at the hospital and will get to take a break when one of us gets back (we have quite a bit of stuff so she was so nice and offered to stay in the waiting area so we don't have to cart things back and forth). Elizabeth's cousin Drew stopped by for a bit as well--he happened to be in town and came by to lend some moral support. That meant a lot to Elizabeth especially i know but to all of us as well.

Thanks again everyone for the emails/posts/texts/voicemails, etc! Doug is now on hour 5 and is doing great so far! More to come around 2:30.
Love, Lindsey
