Just heard from Anita, the head nurse that will be with Doug the whole day. Doug got off to a great start--he was safely put under anesthesia, his Central line went in no problem, he was intubated safely, and Dr. Sardi has begun the surgery. He started around 9:00 am, and smooth sailing so far. We're supposed to get another update around 11:30 am today, I'll write more then!
Love, Lindsey

Thank you Lindsey-keep us posted!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Linds - hope you are doing well too. Call me if you need anything!
Lindsey & DOug - you are so brave. Our love and prayers are with you and Doug's family. Take care of yourself too, Lindsey. It'11:37 and Drew just found Elizabeth so I guess our prayers are working so far (he happened to be in Balt. for a union physical!)Love & hugs to all, Dick, Moe, Drew
Lindsey,
You, Doug, and all your family are in our thoughts and prayers right now. Doug is in fabulous hands with Dr. Sardi. Larry had his very extensive MOAS exactly 8 weeks ago today and is recovering unbelievably well. (You'll be telling another patient that about Doug in 8 weeks!)
Take care of yourself and rest and eat when you can. Larry's nurse recommended that I eat a meal towards the end of the surgery, like during the HIPEC, because once I was with him in postop, I wouldn't want to leave him and she was right.
I'll be thinking of you all day!

Doug you bastard! You beat me this week in fantasy football! Anwyays, sounds like things are going well! My thoughts are with you.
The girls are beside you in spirit. We love you!
Celia
Lindsey,
Thanks for the update. Those of us at the MKC are thinking of Doug today-- it's not the same without him here-- with what he is going through.
Regards,
John D.
